Draft — not yet in effect. Highlighted values are still to be filled in.
Gigometry is a band manager for working musicians. It is owned and run by Arkaix Labs LLC (“we”, “us”), which also owns the gigometry.com domain. This policy explains what we collect when you use Gigometry at gigometry.com and app.gigometry.com (the website, the web app and the app you can add to your home screen), why, who can see it, and the choices you have.
The short version: we use your information to run the app for you and your bands. We don’t sell it, we don’t show ads, and we don’t use tracking or advertising cookies.
What we collect
Things you give us:
- Account: your name, email address and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google.
- Profile: username, photos, bio, tagline, the places you’re based, instruments and skills, genres, gear (and gear costs, which only you can see), social links, phone number if you add one, availability, and whether you’re open to being hired.
- Band content: songs, setlists, practice lists, the schedule (venues, addresses, times, pay, costs and notes), line-ups, RSVPs, check-ins, promo flyers, and who is in the band and in which role.
- Messages: chats with other people and your bands, including photos and GIFs you send, message requests, and the people you block.
- Green Room: posts, comments, reactions, shares, follows, your circle, musician-wanted ads, and reports you make (about posts, comments, ads, people or messages).
- Media Library: photos, videos, audio and documents you or your bands upload, what you add to them (captions, tags, albums, people you tag), and details read from the file, such as its size and when and where it was taken if the file records that.
- Reviews: ratings and reviews bands write about musicians they’ve worked with.
- Invitations: the email address or phone number of someone you invite, so we can send them the invite.
- Text messages, if you turn them on: your mobile number, and a record of your agreement to texts (the number, the time, the exact words you agreed to and the app version) and of when you stopped them.
- Calendars you add: the calendar link or file you give us, and the events in it, so we can show your schedule and tell bandmates when you’re busy.
Things collected as you use the app:
- Sign-in and session information, so you stay signed in.
- If you turn on notifications: a push address for your device, provided by your browser.
- Basic server logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of a request), kept for security and to fix problems.
- Settings saved on your own device (for example your menu side and schedule colors). These stay in your browser; we don’t use them to track you.
How we use it
- To run the app: keep your bands’ songs, setlists and schedule, deliver messages and notifications, and show your profile to the people you choose.
- To connect people: let bands and musicians find each other, and show busy days (never what you’re doing) to your bandmates if you choose to share them.
- To keep it safe: prevent abuse, act on reports, and secure accounts.
- To improve it: fix bugs and understand what isn’t working.
- To contact you about your account, security, or important changes.
We don’t sell your information, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
Who can see what
- Your bandmates see the band’s content and what you add to it. What they can change depends on their role (owner, admin, member or viewer). Pay details follow the band’s pay-visibility setting.
- Your profile is shown to bandmates. People outside your bands can find you only if you allow it in My Profile.
- Your phone number and email are shown to your bandmates unless you choose otherwise. In Settings → Privacy you pick, separately for each: Only me, Bandmates, My circle (your circle and your bandmates) or Everyone (anyone signed in who can see your profile). They are never shown on your public page. You also choose whether anyone, only your circle, or nobody can find you by typing your exact email address or phone number.
- A band’s booking email and phone, if the band adds them, are shown on the band’s page in the app and on its public page, unless the band limits them to its members.
- Ratings and reviews bands write about you can be read by people signed in to Gigometry, and appear on your public page if you have one.
- Green Room posts are seen by the audience you pick: your circle and followers, your circle only, or everyone. Posts made as a band are public.
- Public pages you turn on (a band page or your profile at /b/… or /u/…) can be seen by anyone, without an account.
- Photos you post (profile and band pictures, and photos in posts, comments and chats) are stored at web addresses that aren’t listed anywhere, but anyone who has the address can open the image.
- Media Library files are seen only by you (your own files) or your band’s members (the band’s files) unless they’re shared by link, used in a post, chat or page, or made public. Share links can expire or be turned off. Public files and share links don’t list who uploaded a file or the exact location recorded with it, but a file kept in its original form (for example a full-quality photo or a video) may still contain location data your camera saved in it.
- People outside your circle and your bands who message you appear under Message requests until you accept. If you block someone, neither of you can message the other, see or react to the other’s posts, follow the other or find the other in search, and they aren’t told.
- Busy dates are shared with bandmates only if you turn on “Share when I’m busy”, and they only ever show that you’re busy.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers that run parts of the app for us, and only what each one needs:
- DigitalOcean — hosts the app and stores uploaded photos and Media Library files (United States).
- Neon — hosts our database and handles sign-in (Amazon Web Services, United States).
- Google — sign-in with Google if you use it; Google Gemini reads song lists or photos you choose to import, to recognize the songs; Google Maps turns places, and the addresses of your gigs and saved practice spots, into map coordinates, for distance search and to suggest where a photo was taken. Where a photo was taken (its GPS) is compared on our own servers and never sent to Google.
- Song lookup services (such as Deezer, Songsterr and YouTube) — receive song titles and artist names you search for. Nothing about you.
- Email and text-message providers (an email service and Twilio) — send the invites you ask us to send and, if you turn them on, your text-message notifications. Twilio also texts you a code to confirm your number.
- Browser push services (from Apple, Google or Mozilla, depending on your browser) — deliver notifications to your device.
- GIPHY — receives the words you type when you search for a GIF.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a sale or merger of the company (in which case this policy keeps applying to your information).
Text messages
Texts are optional and off unless you turn them on in Settings → Notifications, confirm your mobile number with a code, and tick the box agreeing to them. We use your number only to send the texts you chose and the codes that confirm it.
Mobile numbers and text-message opt-in information are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. The sharing described above excludes text-message opt-in data and consent; we don’t share those with any third parties.
To stop texts, reply STOP to any of them or turn them off in Settings → Notifications; they stop right away. Reply HELP for help.
Connected calendars (Google and Microsoft)
If you connect a Google or Microsoft calendar, we read your list of calendars and the events in the calendars you choose. We use them only to show your schedule in the app and, if you choose, to show bandmates the days you’re busy. We don’t change or add anything in your calendar, we don’t share its events with anyone else, and we don’t use them for advertising or to train AI models.
We read events from about a month back to about a year ahead, and check for changes about once an hour. The permission Google or Microsoft gives us is stored encrypted and kept until you disconnect. You can disconnect at any time in the app (Calendars → Disconnect), which deletes the permission we hold and the imported events (for Google we also ask Google to cancel it); you can also remove access from your Google or Microsoft account settings.
Gigometry’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account (Settings → Account → Delete my account), we delete your profile, places, skills, settings, posts, comments, reactions, follows, circle, notifications, devices, gear, availability, your own Media Library files and your sign-in, and you leave every band. Messages you sent and your part in bands’ history (for example past gig line-ups) stay with the other people and bands, shown as “Deleted user”.
Content that belongs to a band (songs, setlists, schedule, the band’s media) stays with the band until the band deletes it or is deleted.
If you turned on text messages, we keep the record of your agreement and of stopping them (the number, the time and the wording) for 4 years after you stop texts or delete your account, because carriers require us to show that each person agreed.
Deleted information can remain in our backups for up to 90 days before it’s gone for good.
Your choices and rights
- See and edit most of your information in My Profile and Settings.
- Control who can find you, who sees your posts, who sees your phone number and email, and whether bandmates see when you’re busy.
- Block people, and unblock them in Settings → Privacy.
- Turn notifications on or off in Settings.
- Delete your account at any time in Settings → Account → Delete my account.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We’ll answer within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under local law (for example in California or the European Union). Contact us and we’ll help.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections, access inside the database is limited so people see only what they’re allowed to, and access tokens for connected services are stored encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us if you notice anything wrong.
Children
Gigometry is not for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
