Calendar access

How Gigometry uses your calendar

Connecting a calendar is optional. Here is exactly what we read, why, and how to take it back.

Why we ask

Musicians juggle gigs across several bands on top of work and family. When you connect a calendar, Gigometry uses it to:

  • show your own plans next to your bands’ gigs and practices, so you see a conflict before you accept a booking; and
  • if you choose to share it, tell your bandmates which days you’re busy. They see only that you’re busy, never the event’s title, place or details.

Google Calendar

You sign in with Google and choose which calendars to use. Gigometry asks for read-only permission to:

  • see the list of your calendars, so you can pick which ones count; and
  • read events in the calendars you pick, from about a month back to about a year ahead, checking for changes about once an hour.

We never create, change or delete events in your Google Calendar.

Gigometry’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Outlook and Microsoft 365

You sign in with your Microsoft account: a personal Outlook.com account, or a work or school account (some workplaces need their IT admin to approve new apps). Gigometry asks for read-only access to your calendars and uses it the same way as Google: to show your plans and, if you choose, your busy days. We never change your Outlook calendar.

iPhone and Apple Calendar

Apple doesn’t offer a sign-in for iCloud calendars on the web. Instead you can add a calendar’s public link or an .ics file, and choose which events make you busy. To see your gigs on your iPhone, subscribe to your Gigometry schedule from the Calendar app.

What we keep, and for how long

  • The permission Google or Microsoft gives us is stored encrypted and kept until you disconnect.
  • Imported events are used only for the two purposes above, and are deleted when you disconnect the calendar.
  • We don’t share your calendar events with anyone, sell them, use them for advertising, or use them to train AI models.

How to disconnect

In the app, open your calendars and choose Disconnect. That deletes the permission we hold and every event we imported from that calendar; for Google we also ask Google to cancel the permission. You can also remove Gigometry’s access at any time from your Google account or Microsoft account.
